Here is one of those great examples of n00biness out on the internet that you can't help but laugh at. This one's taken from YouTube, the popular video community site (which is becoming more and more like Myspace everyday, I swear). Taken by me, FoxBlitzz, as I check my Private Messages inbox. (Last update was May 29, 2007 at 4:46 PM) So here's your typical n00b question. The guy comes and asks me a rather generic question without evidence that he has tried to find any kind of solution to his problem by himself. ----- From: blah06000 [videos (0) | favorites (2) | friends (0)] Sent: May 24, 2007 Subject: corrupting Message: Can u tell me how u corrupt the games??? ----- So as you can see, this guy isn't too bright. At the time I received it, I wasn't in too great a mood, so here was my reply: ----- To: blah06000 [videos (0) | favorites (2) | friends (0)] Sent: May 25, 2007 Read: May 25, 2007 Subject: Re: corrupting Message: By experimenting. I mean, seriously, can't you hooligans learn how to find the answers to your own questions these days? I taught myself how to do it, and I suggest you do too. Unfortunately, because you're probably one of the millions of nine year-olds that pollute the internet with stupidity, I feel that you won't even listen to what I'm trying to say and instead complain to me rather than taking incentive. Guess what? Some of us on the internet are actually intelligent beings. Show me that you're not one of the million 'net retards out there by finding the answer yourself. Next stupid question lands you a block. You have been warned. ----- Fair enough, I'm not actually blocking him at first (unlike what I did to several others), and I'm giving him a chance to improve. Unfortunately, he ignores me when he posts this: ----- From: blah06000 [videos (0) | favorites (2) | friends (0)] Sent: May 25, 2007 Subject: Re: Re: corrupting Message: Thanks for helping me.rrrrrrrrrrrgggghhhhh.....Without your help i would be nowhere. ----- Then, out of desperation, he double-posts by flinging an insult at me from nowhere: ----- From: blah06000 [videos (0) | favorites (2) | friends (0)] Sent: May 25, 2007 Subject: Re: Re: corrupting Message: I bet you are one of those loser six year olds who copy and paste videos there moms friend made and write random discriptions!!!!! ----- Well, given the state of YouTube, it's pretty easy to accuse just about anybody for stealing videos. Sorry pal, but I do all my videos by myself. The things I record may be games made by other companies, but the actual recordings and mine and mine only. I realize that he hasn't improved at all, so I block him, and then send him this: ----- To: blah06000 [videos (0) | favorites (2) | friends (0)] Sent: May 25, 2007 Read: May 25, 2007 Subject: Re: Re: Re: corrupting Message: Typical retaliation. Unfortunately, I record all my videos using Fraps and CamStudio. I am also far more knowledgeable on the subject because I really am the authors of said videos. Why else do you think I can respond to some of the technical comments that people present? Also, I cannot possibly be only six because I, for one, know how to use proper spelling and grammar. You, on the other hand, don't know how to use possessive nouns or tell certain words apart (the word you're looking for is "their," not "there." "Their" shows possession, while "there" refers to a place). I have given you a chance to shape up and you have wasted it. So, in order for me to prevent any loss of my intelligence, I will now proceed to block you. Have a nice day, Mr. Generic Name. ----- So I thought I had put it to rest. Of course, like every other n00b on there, he just _has_ to evade the block, posting under a different name. This time, however, instead of annoying me, he actually makes me laugh. This is what he said (for some reason he posted this three times. Maybe he wants himself to be heard louder): ----- From: katejs4 [videos (0) | favorites (1) | friends (0)] Sent: May 28, 2007 Subject: Mr. Generic name Message: " Hey its me, Mr. Generic Name.Remember? U just cant get rid of me.I aint never not had perfect garammar cause Im 26.Guess what? I corrupted Super Mario Brothers 3 to jump from the Start screen to the final battle in 3 seconds so I beat the game in 1 minute. Top that, champion corrupter." ----- Quite a statement there! One second you're clueless on how to corrupt, and the next second, you seem to claim that you are the master of corrupting. On top of that, this guy shows absolutely no evidence of this (see his statistics: it shows he has posted 0 videos). I decide that he's worth keeping unblocked (which started this whole entry in the first place) and send this back to him: ----- To: katejs4 [videos (0) | favorites (1) | friends (0)] Sent: May 28, 2007 Read: — Subject: Re: Mr. Generic name Message: Actually, screw the block. I'm just going to keep you unblocked because you provide some great entertainment to me (I'm literally laughing out loud right now). I also love how you are claiming to have made a corruption that takes you to the final boss without actually showing sufficient proof. Oh wait, you'd probably take a SMB3 video and stitch the title screen and final boss segments together, to look like you made it do that. At least my corruption videos are believable. ----- Okay, now he's apparently tried to add me as a friend, as I've gotten a Friend Request in my inbox. He's probably either trying to suck up to me, or he thinks I'm stupid enough that I will accept the invitation and fall for his so-called "trap". Hah. Either way, I blocked it. Good riddance. To be continued (I assure you, it will).
